Anatomic Chair Nynke Tynagel for inCC: in association with ByBorre A personification of the nostalgic deck chair. Depicting the internal workings of the human body in all its (guts and) glory. I have an affinity for my parents’ background in textile design. My father was creative art director at the historic textile company Weverij de Ploeg; my mother is a textile designer – whose archives are a big inspiration for me and are often reflected in my work. Posted @withregram • @brognonrollin TELL THE DOGS, 2021-2022 A search and rescue dog is trained to find a lost painting by Pieter Claesz. In 1623, the Belgian painter Pieter Claesz arranges cutlery, a lemon, bread, wine and some olives on a wooden table in his studio in Haarlem (Holland), and undertakes a still life entitled "Hors d'oeuvres". This work disappeared in 1939 in Warsaw. In November 2021, the olfactory designer Carole Calvez is commissioned to reconstitute the perfume of the original composition. After meticulous historical research, the provenance of each element is identified. Green olives and yellow lemon were brought from Seville and its region. The wine is a sweet white wine from Barsac (France), probably with the addition of honey as the Dutch taste then wanted. The bread is a 'Hardbrood', also called 'sea bread' for its long shelf life, probably baked over a wood fire in Groningen. Using sixty-two natural essences and synthetic molecules, the smell of each food is reproduced according to its intensity and its imagined interactions with the environment. The formula of each fragrance is then definitively archived. The excerpts are entrusted to Serge Garidel, dog handler of the Cynotechnique Group of Luxembourg, for the training of Iarca, his Malinois shepherd dog; a breed frequently used by canine research brigades for its extraordinary olfactory abilities. Since October 2021, Iarca has been trained to identify and find in any environment the olfactory combination “Hardbrood, Barsac wine, green olives and Seville lemon”. The Crib I had the honour of being invited to design Buro Berger’s first product, so I designed a colourful and playful nativity scene, to celebrate the newborn brand.
