The ‘Forever Young’ series shows my love for playfulness. In three graphic works, cartoonish archetypes and iconic toys are stripped to their essence and carefully placed and contextualised into dense and harmonious compositions.
The ability of children to play has infinite possibilities. For children, playing is a form of self-expression. Things that adults find nostalgic may be filled with surprise and excitement as kids have no preconceptions.
Children are drawn to bright colours and bold shapes, and see things through a lens of innocence - a power we tend to lose as we grow older, so let's always remember to be curious and playful.
